I purchased an Everyday Cover. The monthly payment is similar to the other insurance companies, but this cover doesn't require annual excess payments like some other insurance companies do. As my dog is young and healthy and rarely needs go to the vet, requirement of no excess is a good purchase point.

I was only checking the estimate of the monthly payment of the insurance on the website, but a couple days later a salesperson from SPCA phoned me during the day in the middle of my work and tried to sell the insurance. It was quite annoying. As they provide the contact number on the website, I rather phone them myself when it suits me. I didn't really want them to contact me at all.

This was a very bad first impression. My puppy is arriving on the 9th of November at lunch time. I started my policy from the 9th by accident as the puppy arrives at lunch time only to realise the policy doesn't start until 11.59pm on the 9th so we're not covered from lunchtime-11.59pm. I then tried to change the start date to the 8th so were covered for the full day only to find out after several different calls that we can't start the policy until the puppy is in our care. I had to talk to several different people and it was not a very good experience. I'm hoping things improve from here.

I had to talk to about 4 different people to sort my issue out. Maddison was very helpful but and the first person I talked to set the policy up did not explain that we would not be covered from lunchtime-11.59pm nor that I can't start the policy until I have the puppy. When I called to adjust it I wasn't happy so asked to speak to a complaints person. When I said I wanted to change the start date I was told I have to cancel the policy but the premium might change. When I complained it took 1 day for someone to come back to me. Then when they did call they still didn't tell me I can't start it until the 9th because the puppy needs to be in my care. I was not given the right information or had things explained properly through the whole service. Very frustrating.
